Zazenkai, Full Day of Meditation
Saturday, June 9th

Suggested Donation:  $35             Members: $25

In Zen, spending extended periods of time immersed in silent practice is viewed as an instrumental part of the practice.  At OMZ, we offer monthly zazenkais.  Zazenkai means come together for meditation. This is a wonderful opportunity to engage in deep practice with the support of experienced teachers and a like-minded community. Beginners and long-time practitioners are all welcome.  We practice noble silence.  You are encouraged to attend the entire event, but partial participation is permitted as well.  The full schedule is below.  We alternate between 30 minute periods of seated meditation (zazen)  and 5 minute periods of walking meditation (kinhin).  A gentle yoga class taught by Laurie is offered, as well as daisan (private interviews) with a teacher.  The afternoon concludes with an interactive discussion on Zen teachings.
